Kandy Perahera

I like to tell something about a grand festival in my country.The name of the festival is Esala Perahera(the festival of the tooth).Esala means full moon.This festival is done in my city called Kandy not in whole country.This happens in July or August in every year.This festival constants lots of dance like fire dances,whip dances,Kandian dances,and other cultural dances.The main thing in this festival is the elephants.The owners of the elephants will decorate the elephants with colorful garments.In this festival there is king elephant which carries the tooth of the Lord Buddha.This is the most colorful festival in Sri Lanka.This festival last for ten days in night.Many tourists comes to see this festival in every year.In this festival lots of students will participate in dancing even the small children will do the dancing.Its really nice to see this festival.
