Shivaratri means the night which is dedicated to our Lord(god)Shiva.Shivaratri also know as Maha Shivaratri which means great night.We celebrate this day special in Lord Shiva Kovil,and we celebrate this festival during night,and we wan't sleep on this day.We mostly stay in the Kovil during night till next day.I like to stay in the Kovil every days,but this festival is very special to me because I can stay in the kovil in night too.When I was in Sri Lanka I went with my family,and with my friends it was really fun,but today we can't go because no leave for my dad oh god it makes me sad.I love this day a lot any way can't do anything I just prayed in my home.These pictures were the Lord Shiva.I love this god.
I'm so sorry that you can't celebrate your holiday in the way you love! It must be very hard to know what you are missing by not being in your native country at this time. Happy Holiday!
